The Most Exciting News I've been Waiting 4 Years For

On October 15, 2009, I dropped off the love of my life at the airport where he hopped on a plane in pursuit of his dreams to a city he had never visited. Ever. He had an opportunity of a lifetime awaiting him 3000km away.  It was a sad day. I was so proud, excited for what was ahead for him, but scared, sad and worried. What were the next couple of years going to be like?

The past four years have been life changing. To think that I was only 23 years old when he left is crazy. We've both grown individually and as a couple and "taking a break" never once was an option or even discussed. Read more here for how we have made it work here.

There was never an official "end" date to his time away. He had a goal he set out to do and recently accomplished it (and more!). Mr. C has worked so incredibly hard, built friendships, working relationships and navigated in a new town where he literally knew no one. That takes someone who is dedicated, passionate, kind hearted and committed. As for me? I like to say I was his cheerleader from the sidelines. Heck, he was my cheerleader too.

Where does this all lead and why am I talking about this now?

Friends, it is with great happiness that I can FINALLY say that almost exactly four years later (less 3 days), Mr. C is RETURNING HOME. It brings me to tears just thinking of that.

The past few years have not been easy, but we have made it work and we have succeeded and survived. I am beyond thrilled. I've been hoping, dreaming and praying for this day for so long.

So, here's to starting a new lifelong adventure together.

Will you now see pictures of Mr.C here on the lovely blog? Likely not. :) It's just a personal decision not to and he doesn't want to be plastered over the internet :) Perhaps one day! For now, all that matters is that Mr. C will be HOME. YIPPEE!!!
